Clean and convienant

by travelbugg1980

Decided on a last-minute trip to Savannah, and this hotel fit perfectly with location and price --IF you are driving. Probably not a good idea if you do not have a car. It's a few miles out of downtown, has free parking, and its a straight shot to City Center, so it's very easy to get in and out without getting lost. A little hard to see from the road itself, but if you look for the Chucky-Cheese, the Savannah Garden Inn is right next door. Rooms were clean and decent. Not luxurious, but perfectly adequate for what we paid. Also had free continental breakfast. If I were going on a romantic weekend, I would pick another place--I am big on fancy shampoo and fluffy towels, neither of which you will find here. BUT as I understand it, the hotel was recently purchased and is slowly being improved by the new managment, so maybe they will fix that in the future. Great place for a budget stay. Owners were really nice.

  • Pros: Close to downtown and affordable
  • Cons: Needs some renovations and better linens

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

by Anonymous3210

I have been staying at this hotel for the last eight years, this year was the worst stay ever, there were huge insects in rooms and the pool was closed for four out of the seven days we stayed. I only get one vacation a year and my kids were excited about the pool...and we only got to use it one day. There were also huge insects-bugs and lizards in the courtyard. Everything was NASTY none of the outdoor transhcans were emptied and our room was only cleaned three times during our stay and we had to ask fo towels every night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The toliets back up and the management Spencer will not send anyone to fix it. We even asked for a plunger to fix ourselves. We finally spoke to a health inspector and got most of the toliet problem resolved by changing rooms.

  • Cons: Gone downhill under new management

Moderately priced hotel franchise offers extended-stay travelers and families rooms and suites close to the city's attractions.
