Awful! Horrible service the food was not at all what you would expect. I didn't even eat mine as it was so bad and I'm not a picky eater. Those with me that ordered the buffet were very disappointed as well. A place that is suppose to be all about southern food and hospitality needs to really consider hiring some new wait staff and giving their food a makeover!
I was in Savannah last weekend for a wedding . So we thought why not try Paula Deen's .. SOOOOO WRONG !!!! . Your paying for the name , It's loud and you can get the same food at old country buffet . Disappointing :( The only thing I enjoyed was the SWEET TEA . Do NOT waste your time !!!!
Well Worth the Wait!. We were in Savannah to support my son in the Rock N Roll Marathon and he took us to Paula's since I am a huge fan. We had the buffet and it was AWESOME. The atmosphere was very homey and the service was wonderful. Our server took the time to interact with us and was very knowedgeable of the menu items. I can't wait to go back.
Stay Away, food too Salty!!!!!. I too went to Lady's and Sons, yesterday, to celebrate my husband's birthday. Big mistake. The food was horrible! Majority of the food was very salty. So much salt, that I ended up with a headache. I could not believe how salty all the food is. I've never been to a restaurant where the food is overly salty! The cook ought to beware of the salt they're putting into the foods. We had the buffet, and the only thing edible were the mash potatoes, beef stragonoff, and cornbread. This meal was overly priced for what we got, and not worth the $34 that I spent. Maybe the Paula Deen's restaurants are good elsewhere, but surely not in Savannah. I will never go to this place again.
Waste of money and time not even worth one star. We went to Savannah for my birthdayand I chose Lady and Sons for dinner. It was the worst. We were seated in a room that was just rows of tables and it did not have any atmosphere. The table looked awful it had very little finish on it which turned us off. My son, who was treating me, said we should leave and go somewhere else but I said lets give it a try. The menu had a very limited choice and the prices were shocking. One server came over to give us what looked like a pancake and we asked her what it was and she said it was a corn thing. My son had to send back his dinner, chicken pot pie, because it was so salty he couldn't eat it. My dinner was very greasy. The service was terrible. It was a total rip off and I was so, so, so disappointed. Save your money and DON"T go to Lady and Sons. If Paula ate there I think she would be shocked. I am not venting just trying to let everyone know what to expect. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME and MONEY. It is a total tourist trap and a big rip off. We will go back to Savannah but NOT to Lady and Sons. I am giving it one star because they need a rating to publish my review but it is not even worth one star.
Great experience. Last time we went to Savannah, the line for The Lady and Sons was too long to wait in. We had the good fortune to return to this beautiful city and would not again miss eating in Paula Deen's restaurant.I agree with the previous reviewer who thought that many people were just venting their anger over something that happened during their dining experience. We had a wonderful lunch and a fabulous dessert for no more money than a surrounding restaurant would get in a city dependent on tourists. Food was delicious, plentiful and hot and the service was good. I am so happy we had this memorable experience and would definitely recommend those going to Savannah to put this place on their " to do" list.
WELL WORTH THE WAIT. Pilot and Finally Got a four day trip to Charleston, SC. Althought I've been waiting for years to have a chance to eat at Lady and Son's, I almost didn't go after reading reviews all over the internet that it wasn't worth the drive to eat there. Glad I changed my mind on the last day before leaving and went tonight. Food was amazing and the wait staff had the definition of true southern hospitality. Save room for dessert, although which one to choose may not be so easy. For anyone considering maybe not going because of the negative comments, learn from my experience. The ones who normally go through the trouble of writing reviews are the ones who have the bad experience and are venting. I wanted to make sure Lady and Son's got the credit tonight. I truly feel like I got BEST DISHES from Paula's KITCHEN thru this experience!!!! Thanks to all!!!
JUST AS GOOD AS GRANDMA'S FROM NORTH CAROLINA. Returned to Michigan from Alabama via Savannah and had to have dinner at Paula Deen's Restaurant. I just don't understand the poor reviews I've seen here and the comments from the Savannah locals that say the restaurant is overrated. I found the experience very professional and well organized not to mention how clean everything was with the staff doing all they could to ensure that you had a pleasant experience!! The food was almost as good as my Grandmother's in North Carolina. She uses fatback in everything!! If you're in Savannah and don't go to the restaurant, it's your lose!! My only two (2) regrets are that I could not have a doggie bag for my trip back home and Paula was not at the restaurant for an opportunity to meet her!!
Paula Deen Restaurant Ripoff. With all the hoopla, you expect the food to be awsome and the atmosphere to be elegant. Instead it's all a gimmick. The food was terrible. I guarantee you she would not feed that crap to her husband. The dessert was good. The buffett was poor quality and poor taste. You expect to eat Paula Dean's recepies but this food was crap and definetly not her recepies. I cook her recepies regularly and i can assure you this crap was not in her books. What gets me is ok, she's made a lot of money for herself and the boys but she has a golden opportunity with all these fans lining up to come to her restaurant and instead of treating them to great recepies and developing a customer for life, she feeds them crap, not caring apparently if they come back or not. What an opportunity she and the boys are passing on. You make a lot more money from your repeat business than you ever will from a one time gimmick. And, a one time gimmick only makes you look bad. There were seven adults in our party and all seven said the same thing, they would never go back and were shocked that The Lady And Sons was just a gimmick. None of us will ever return and we will tell everyone how bad it was.
