I used to go to Hot Headz for a little less than a year. At first I loved it; the atmosphere is very friendly and laid back, much like the beauty parlors you see in the movies. Katie always cut and colored my hair exactly how I liked it, so there was never really any disappointment in the end result. However, I started getting hesitant when the shop had business people come in and try to sell weight loss shakes. The next thing that put me off is the way the owner (she's so friendly and sweet but this was unprofessional and awkward) nearly took off her shirt in the middle of the shop so she could show me her back tattoo ranging from her shoulders to her lower back. On top of that, the hair rinsing/washing area is SO cramped and small that when I had my lightener (bleached) washed out of my hair, my eyes would sting from the chemicals and it was hard to breathe. I thought this was only a one time thing, but it happened literally every time I went. It made it very hard to want to go back. The last straw was noticing the inconsistency in my hair coloring, in the back of my head in the bottom layers there were literally horizontal stripes of different shades of blonde (not blended either). A lot of people would be okay with this since it's an area of the head that most people won't see, but it was really upsetting to know I paid good money for this quality. That being said, EVERYONE is really, really nice and if you don't get too picky about your hair and atmosphere then this is the place to go.
Just got the best haircut and salon experience I've ever had! The employees are kind, well trained and fun! My stylist Donna is well experienced, she really knew how to work with my thick and difficult hair and give me a style that works for me.
I was very underwhelmed by my experience with Judy at hotheadz. It was $45 (including a discount) for a terrible cut. I have long, easy hair and am not very picky, so my standards are pretty low for what I would consider an acceptable haircut. Upon getting home, I realized that there were a couple chunks of hair that were a solid inch longer than the rest of the hairline. In her defense, I could have examined my haircut a little more while at the shop, but this just should not happen in a professional salon. If she had tossed it around for 1 more minute, she would have seen these very obvious chunks sticking out at the bottom. In addition, the bottom is not a smooth line at all. It looks chunky and about the same as it did in elementary school. Overall, I paid way too much for a pretty terrible cut. I wouldn't be so disappointed if I had only paid $20, but I can definitely find a better cut for $45 + tip...
We love our new salon.

Benefits Of Keratriplex Treatment
Awapuhi Kertriplex reduces breakage by 80%, improves shine by 35%, and prevents color fade by 67%. Ideal for naturally dry or brittle hair, sun damage, lightened or chemically treated hair. Keratriplex is a blend of 3 proteins that penetrate into the hair (rather than lay on top of the hair) to rebuild and reinforce the hairs cuticle. This intense cream treatment is used to hydrate and add shine once the Keratriplex is absorbed. It instantly conditions and improves hair quality and texture with noticeable results.
Priced at $35.00 it is a must for dry, colored treated, damaged, sun stressed hair. This treatment lasts from 4 to 6 weeks.
Cheryl did the best job on my keratin treatment. I am an African American woman, so I was very skeptical about her getting in my head,I haven't had a perm for over a year, so I had a lot of hair. From meeting her she was warm and inviting,I didn't have to wait I went right in for my service. My hair turned out better then I could have ever thought, she had definitely found a loyal customer,I love her she was so funny. Thanks girl.
JUDY IS THE TRUTH. I wanted to chop off all of my hair and was terrified to go to a new stylist. I asked every girl in Savannah I saw with fabulous short hair where they went, and they all said "Judy at Hot Headz". She did an OUTSTANDING job with my hair, it looks awesome every single day! She has given me the best haircuts I have ever had, I wouldn't dream of trusting anyone else with my hair now. I'm moving to Florida but I plan on driving back up to see Judy every few months. I would travel from ANYWHERE in the world for the wonderful team at Hot Headz! Best of the best!
I've been to Hot Headz Salon twice now while on vacation and I would highly recommend it. I've had a manicure/pedicure and hair cut & color & keratin treatment. Both visits, I received 4 star treatment and service. Chyrel was my stylist and she really knows her stuff. I had an idea of what color and cut I wanted and let her know and she added in her expertise and it turned out to be beautiful. I've referred people there already who have been complementing my hair. Another plus is that the staff are all friendly and the salon is nice and comfortable. If you're looking for a stylist that knows hair and nails and a great salon, go see Chyrel. I will definitely be back :)
friends on drayton. I've gone to Hot Headz for three years since I first moved to Savannah. Katie and Cheryl have styled my hair and Cheryl has given me a manicure and pedicure . I don't think that you can find better stylists anywhere in Savannah than those two .They are also very sweet people who are interested in their clients. Judy runs a classy operation with a lot of sass and fun thrown in the appointment .
Don't go for nails!!!.
It's funny because I read so many great reviews that I believed that this place would be great..but now I wonder if they write their own reviews. Ive never been there for hair so I can't comment on that. I went for a mani-pedi and it the worst I have ever received.
PROS-staff is friendly
CONS-Decor and walls are awful. You want to walk into a relaxed atmosphere and floor to ceiling black and red are far from relaxing. Mani-pedi left a lot to be desired. Pedi is done in a transportable bucket. And the stairs are unsafe-slippery mats that are not glued to each step.
MANI-PEDI is not worth it - even at a discount!. These folks obviously do a nice job with hair, but if you're considering today's Groupon deal to try out their mani-pedi, save your money!!! I got this deal last time it came out and walked away so frustrated! The appointment took over two hours and the lady doing it was nice enough, but SPACEY - she never bothered to use any moisturizer on my hands at all... she lost track of which coat of polish or which finger/toe she was on... it was a train-wreck. You will be sitting in a hair-cutting chair with a metal tray pulled up to do your manicure and a rolling foot-bath for your pedi (makes for very uncomfortable sitting for all that time!). And the polish selection was pretty sketchy... unless you're a hooker.
