Savannah >Hot Headz
MANI-PEDI is not worth it - even at a discount!. These folks obviously do a nice job with hair, but if you're considering today's Groupon deal to try out their mani-pedi, save your money!!! I got this deal last time it came out and walked away so frustrated! The appointment took over two hours and the lady doing it was nice enough, but SPACEY - she never bothered to use any moisturizer on my hands at all... she lost track of which coat of polish or which finger/toe she was on... it was a train-wreck. You will be sitting in a hair-cutting chair with a metal tray pulled up to do your manicure and a rolling foot-bath for your pedi (makes for very uncomfortable sitting for all that time!). And the polish selection was pretty sketchy... unless you're a hooker.
Made the wedding weekend FABULOUS!.
Judy and her staff at Hot Headz were amazing! I was just in a destination wedding and we went to the salon to get mani/pedis and then had the Hot Headz team come to our place to do hair the following day. Both experiences were GREAT!
The staff is hysterical! Judy is an absolute professional and did a fantastic job with both my nails and hair. After hanging out with her for a few hours, she gave me an updo that totally suited my personality AND withstood the GA heat and humidity. She knows what she's doing and you will not be disappointed with her work! Plus, she and her staff are super funny and personable and you will have a great time chatting away with them while they beautify you.
I would highly recommend their services to anyone. It was a little nerve racking going into a totally foreign city and trusting someone with your hair on such an important day, but you are in competent and capable hands!!!
You want your hair like a certain somebody?. So I wanted my hair like a certain somebody and brought in a picture to Judy. Judy meticulously explained to me how she was going to go about it (we talked like 5 minutes just about the hairstyle). In the end, Judy did exactly what she said she was going to do and it was exactly like the picture. Not only that, she even gave me tips on how to style my hair to make it even more like the picture. Nevertheless I was impressed. If you want your hair to look like a certain somebody, bring in a picture to Judy and I'm sure she can make it happen!
HOT HEADZ=THE BEST!. So I have been wanting Extensions for as long as I can remember, or at least Long hair. Im 20 and my hair has always been SOOOOOO thin. I asked around other salons about hair extensions and ended up at Hot Headz. Im SO lucky and grateful for Judy! She's the owner of Hot Headz and is AMAZING! I got the tape extensions and it does take some getting used to because my hair is now heavier and you just have to be a little more careful how you take care of your hair but it is all TOTALLY worth it. I was SHOCKED at all the attention I was and have been getting just because of my long hair. Its as if I got a boob job haha Judy is SUPER sweet, awesome, talented and KNOWS what she is talking about and is willing to work with whatever you need her to work with. I live in Statesboro and will most def. make the trip to savannah to get my hair done! Its def. worth it and I will only be going to Hot Headz from now on! I was SOLD on the first visit! THANK YOU JUDY!!!! & Hot Headz of savannah!
Great experience!. My boyfriend and I made appointments with Chyrel. We both got a cut and style, and she did a great job! She listened to exactly what each of us wanted, and both of our haircuts turned out great. She even gave me tips for everyday styling and for a formal updo.
great first experience!. I really enjoyed my experience here at hot headz salon in downtown Savannah. The service was friendly and accommodating, not to mention, I left in love with my new haircut and color by Sheryl! I would definitely go back here!
The BEST salon in Savannah!!.
Ok, so I've been to a lot of salons in Savannah including the ones with the "Spas" where they pamper you and all, but being pampered is not what’s important to me. What do I care if they serve me coffee, give me a bottle of water, give me something to snack on and put me in a massage chair while they wash my hair if I feel like crap when I leave because I paid way too much for something I didn’t love?
The first time I visited Hot Headz was to get my hair done for a military ball, no cut or color, just an up-du and Joan did a magnificent job! Everyone complemented my hair at the ball! So I decided to give them a chance with my color and cut.
I had been coloring my hair at home for the past year because I figured with the bad experiences at other salons I might as well do a bad job myself and save a few hundred! But my hair kept getting darker each time I colored it and my ends were fried. When I called, Joan worked me into her schedule so I could get in that same day. I got there and did not wait one minute before I was in Joan’s chair and discussing my hair. I also asked about the costs and she was up front with everything so there was no surprise when it came time to pay. Both Joan and Chyrel worked on my hair and ended up using a color remover to eliminate the color build up. It turned out that the color remover lightened my hair to the exact color I wanted so they only had to color my roots, which they matched up perfectly! After that I got an amazing cut, both ladies continued to work on my hair until it was nice and flat ironed.
When I left I had to hug them both because it’s been such a long time since I’ve left a salon feeling so happy and excited about my hair! What’s even more important is that for the first time the worst critic of all (my husband) loved it! Definitely recommend this salon to all who want their hair done by a professional who knows what they’re doing!
The ONLY place in savannah I'd ever go.
Ive read the negative reviews that are posted here, and I honestly wonder if they even went to the same place that I go to. I've known the staff of this salon for years (even when they all used to work together at a different place). When they started Hotheadz, I went with them, and didn't look back.
All of the staff are polite and personable. Conversation (and laughs) flow freely, and you always feel welcome and appreciated. The salon is comfortable and not at all pretentious, exactly how it should be.
This is the only place in Savannah I would ever go to get a haircut (and I go every two weeks!). I tell everyone I know to go here as well, as well as people I just meet, hahaha! I have gone to Joan for years; she is simply the best.
I truly look forward to going to Hotheadz. I always leave looking great, and I have a great time while there. You will too.
Facilities need work. I went a few weeks ago and while my stylist was very nice, I'm not likely to return because of the atmosphere. Its simply not a pleasant place to get your hair done. The location is cramped, unorganized, and kinda messy. I have this feeling there isn't somewhere for the stylists to put their things or lunch because there was food sitting out and there is a mini fridge in the room. I'm sure rent in downtown is pretty absurd so I can understand why the space is small but I think with some work they could be a lot more comfortable, trendy and chic. Offering some water or tea or something would have been nice too. As I said the stylist was nice and the reception was prompt with phonecalls etc. but when I spend money on my hair I like to feel a bit pampered.
Great deal, friendly staff.
I went in using a voucher from Living Social. I was very nervous about finding a new stylist, so I figured Living Social was the way to try out various salons locally. I'm pleased with my highlights and the friendliness of the staff. They had no issues with my voucher and I felt they treated me no differently had I paid full price in store.
Thank you for an overall pleasant experience.
