Great Bar & Grill. I was driving to SC for Christmas but got a late start from Orlando and was getting tired. Decide to get a room for the night and hit the road in the morning. Anyway, what a great little restaurant. Being from FL, it's name is appropriate as it could fit on any beach front property in FL, whether St. Pete Beach, Daytona, Cocoa, etc. It's very casual friendly atmosphere. Island Grill & Bar is an appropriate name. Everything from Quesadillas to shrimp/fish baskets, raw or steamed oysters on the half shell to ribeye steak and salads. It's a great sports bar and grill and it seems everyone kind of knows each other (except for us out of towners, but what a friendly group). Next time I make a trip to/from SC from FL, stopping here will make he trip worthwhile! The service was not slow and the drinks were great (plus you're allowed to get a drink to go and take it home - how cool). I've never heard of that, so I got an extra and took it back to the room. We gave it a try!. So I read the review and was really worried about eating here. Since there isn't much in the way of restaurants near the hotels on this exit we decided to chance it. I guess they have made some changes at this restaurant because we didn't feel intimidated or unsafe at all. The server, Amber, was very polite and the service was great! I had the fried fish and I have to say, it was really good!!! My husband enjoyed the ribeye. The atmosphere was fun because they had some kind of game going on at the time. We plan to stop back by on our way home from Florida.

Might have been the worst I've ever seen.. Since I was staying at the HI Ex just down the street, I figured I'd wander over for a beer or two and some good local food..

Well, the beer arrived 10 minutes after order it, and it was not only warm, but flat too..



I ordered a seafood combo, with grilled scallops and oysters, which came with fries and slaw..



The food arrived after a long wait.. And that was it.. Just the food.. No utensils, no condiments, no nothing..



After finally being able to flag down a waitress and get some silverware, my food was cold.. Maybe colder than the beer..



They weren't busy, service sucked, beer was warm, food was cold, and the portions were tiny..



I'll be returning to the area in a month and I sure as hell won't be back to this place.. I'd have been better off getting a fish sandwich at McDonalds.. At least it would have been warm.
