Savannah >Lodging > Suites On Lafayette
A Great Weekend!.
I met 5 of my college friends in Savannah and rather than figure out which hotel to stay in, I looked on VRBO. We had a fabulous time. The house was incredible with its perfect location (right around the corner from Clary's!) so we could walk wherever we wanted to go and its beautiful antique furnishings. We enjoyed the home-y feel. I am looking again to go back later this year.
I agree with the May 16th post...Best Kept Secret!
Suites on Lafayette, Best kept secret. My wife and i aren't travel agents, but im sure we travel more than the couple that left a poor review in 06. One would consider this establishment a vacation rental others selve serve living. If you have stayed at any of the nice hotles in Sa, Ga, you then know that it is around 250 to 300 on the weekends and for what, some snoty guest services person, not to bad talk the people of savannah(they are as sweet as can be, polite and charming, chivalrist if you will.) most service people tend to suck. I digress, the accomdations currentley appear to be ran by one person, the owner Lou. Fantastic guy. Like i stated above this is a vaction rental so if you and your party aren't self sufficent than this isnt for you. On the other hand if You like 1300 sq ft rooms with all the amenities of your own home for cheaper than the avia and bohemian, just to name a few than this is the place to be. This place was spotless when we got there and was perfect for newly weds, families, wedding parties, bachelors, and even old farts. It's was just me and my wife that stayed but we could have brought the whole family and easily split the price to make it even cheaper. Everything is in walking distance, if your not tired from walking around your huge room. If you happen to tire easy then walk to motorini and rent a moped, also great people and willing to work out a deal. My trip would'nt have been what it was if weren't for The suites on lafayette!!!! If you are going to Sa, Ga anytime soon call Lou and let him hook you up!
Suites On LaFayette to be avoided. My wife and I are travel agents in Atlanta and because of Savannah's proximity, we visit alot and also hold ourselves to trying out as many tours, restaurants, hotels, attractions as humanly possible because we want to know what we're talking about when pushing Savannah as a destination. Frankly we found this place to be lackluster. Great location, interesting old house(s), but kind of empty on the customer service level. Didn't seem to know alot and we found a kind of cocky, even bitchy know-it-all attitude. You know that tone when you feel like you're being treated like "out of towners." Just didn't go appreciated and won't be going back.
