Dishonest Room Rate Disclosures, Don't go in there . . .. Comfort Suites Historic Disctict (GA323)

Beware! Hotel increases room rates without "ANY" notice to customer! I was quoted $119 +$17.72 in misc. taxes/day via Sean (SMG) the greeting desk clerk. I told Sean I will stay 2 nights but probably 3.

I did stay 3 nights. . . When I checked out with the desk clerk (TMM), I discovered what I thought was a mistake. I was billed to my credit card $179+$25.52 tax for each night #2 & night #3 !?

I was correctly billed $119+ for night #1. I questioned this error with the desk clerk (TMM). He informed me that it was no error. The $179+ rate is correct. This $179+ per night charge was not disclosed during the checkin rate negotiation period. Also, I was not notified of any future room rate increases for the next three (3) days.

CONCERNING $179+/DAY RATE:

RUSSELL (see below) blamed ME for not doing a daily rate check at desk. That makes no sense at all. . . DUH!? !? I believed the rate negotiation was complete at checkin period. We are in Savannah, Ga.. We are not on Wall Street where the economy quickly moves.

Russell . . mentioned a "video desk log" they make and keep of front desk buisness. Russ said he would need to review the logs to verify my checkin rate agreement w/Sean. BUT . . . his very next breath, he said that he doesn't have time to check same..? Hmmmmm . . . they have front desk/lobby video surveillance but they will not use it to help out customers (that opens a few buisness and security questions)? They were clearly too bothered to work the problem through. I was told to leave at checkout time and call Christina later. They were too busy with other customers checking out and didn't want other customers to overhear us. RUDE!!!!! I left without further discussion. When I did call back, it took three days of voice mails to contact Christina. She was on lots of errands and breaks. . . ? Finally, Christina referred me to Russell because she stated she has no authority to resolve my issues. After discussions with Russell (above) his attitude was clear that he was bothered by the matter. He insisted that the $179 rate was correct. I insisted it was not disclosed beforehand. Finally . . . I was lucky to get my AAA discount (only $40.46) off the $546 bill. He acted as if I was dishonest about my AAA membership, he would not take down my membership number. This is a BAD HOTEL to do buisness with !

The 2nd. night there, I suffered 2 large spider bites while sleeping in hotel room. I informed the front desk AND house keeping in the morning. There were several spider webs over the bed and window. However the maid suggested I imported them from elsewhere. DUH!? Basically, she spun the problem back onto me!

The WIFI and wire ethernet was 100% down all three days! Another non working valueless perk!

Breakfast: I rate as only "fair". breakfast here is the same as anywhere else.... self service (microwave frozen danish items, stale english muffins, cold cereal, etc.) Breakfast room over crowded. No place to sit and enjoy wake up breakfast.

I rate this hotel as only a $45/ day hotel. This is not a comfort inn, it is a dishonest, discomfort tourist trap.

So much for Savannah Comfort Dis-Hospitality . . .

I will never stay at this place again. If I lived nearby . . . I would file a civil small claim upon the owners and staff.

Travelers beware !

Loved it. This was a great place to be located near River walk, CityMarket. Great amendities and price.....highly recomment it.
