Pink House Florist is the PITS!
by ChicagoDoll76
DO NOT USE Pink House Florist! I have NEVER written a negative review online before but felt I needed to say something about this florist.
I am an event planner/fundraiser in Chicago and had my wedding in Savannah, GA on June 20, 2009. I met with Pink House staff in January 2009 and called them multiple times about my order. I had to seek out getting a contract signed with them and had a very difficult time getting helpful service when calling.
My deposit was due two weeks in advance and I called them to pay, only to find out the staff did not have an accurate record of the flowers I'd ordered and they had to update the contract and call me back. I did not receive a call about the payment so assumed I would pay when I arrived.
When I arrived in Savannah I called to make the full payment and was told the flowers I ordered weren't in season. Not in season??? I believe it's not too much to ask that a FLORIST know if and when the flowers I've ordered will be in season or not - and to tell me that when I've met with them SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE so I'd have time to redesign the decor for my reception.
On top of this, THEY DOUBLED THE PRICE THEY QUOTED ME. Let me repeat that. DOUBLED. My parents went in on my behalf to handle the situation and were met with an extremely snotty response by Bill, one of the employees there. I then showed up separately at the store and told them I was very upset that they had misrepresented what they could get AND doubled the price. In no more than 90 seconds, another associate (Jeannie), blamed the situation on:
1. I didn't pay the deposit on time (see reason above and how this affects when flowers are in season is beyond me).
2. She HAD called me but didn't leave me a message because she figured I "was getting enough voice messages from other people before the wedding" (yet somehow I was supposed to know she had tried to call me).
3. The flowers WERE actually in season but were dead upon arrival.
4. The SECOND shipment of flowers were also dead upon arrival and each shipment costs them $50.
5. The economy is bad.
Believe me, I'm just as confused as you may be reading that list of excuses. I am writing this coming not just from the point of view of being the bride, but from having planned many different types of events, working with a large array of vendors, and knowing how to get deposits in, contracts signed, and advance planning accomplished. For such an important event like a wedding, please make sure you can rest easy and do NOT use Pink House Florist.
I am happy to say that with the aid of John Wolf Florist in Savannah and a flower wholesaler, we were able to assemble makeshift arrangements, a bouquet and bouts, etc.
Please, please, please do yourself the best wedding favor you can and DO NOT USE PINK HOUSE FLORIST.
