Wow! A Heaven for Needlepointers!. What a find! This shop is in the historic district of Savannah across from the Colonial Cemetery and is easy to find. It is chock full of hand-painted canvases of every type imaginable and they offer custom services as well. Their dog portraits on canvas are the best I've seen. I found them on them on the internet and made a special trip to Savannah to shop. I was not disappointed. If you can't visit the store, check out their web site. The poodle pups are a hoot, too.

Fantastic. What great fun! If you are into needlepoint, then don't miss this shop when you are in or near Savannah. It has a great selection of canvases as well as a wonderful selection of fibers. The owner is an artist, so if you need any custom work done, this is the place to go. Don't forget to say "hello" to the shop poodles and feed them a treat from their cookie jar. Do notice the cautionary sign on the door: "Warning - dumb blonde poodle inside." Service is exceptional at Twiggs. If you have some time, bring along a piece you're working on and join the stitch group usually found there. I did. They welcome newcomers.

FRIENDLY AND FUN-FILLED NEEDLEPOINT SHOP. Great needlepoint shop to look up if you're in Savannah...right in the heart of the historic district. There are many wonderful canvases from which to select, and I understand that the owner is a designer in her own right. Her canvas designs are absolutely wonderful. There is a nice selection of threads, books and assorted accessories from which to select if you're interested in those sorts of things... and what needlepointer isn't? Look for the two adorable poodles that are often in the shop...they'll lick you to death until you ply them with treats cleverly kept on top of the bookcase for just such a purpose.
