Savannah >Food & Dining > Fiddler's Crab House
Keep driving. We will not return. The three of us have had much higher quality seafood at Red Lobster, although the prices were reasonable. The only shining star was the service: it was outstanding, very attentive but not overbearing. Everything else was laughable. Beer selection is slender, unless you like only Miller or Bud. Desserts are likewise quite limited, with just three selections the night we were there for dinner. Portions are adequate for one not-too-hungry person, but since we like to share entrees we ended up ordering extra sides of steamed veggies. Choices of sides are also paltry: a half-cob of mushy sweet corn; a tiny plastic container of cole slaw; fries; grits slathered with cheese and heavy cream; or a snooze of a steamed vegetable medley of yellow squash, baby carrots and zucchini. On the plus side, the dinner rolls were freshly warmed, and the coffee was strictly freshly-brewed. It’s a cute place, with barn siding on the inside and lots of interesting pictures hung on the walls. Definitely not worth stopping for.
Very good local seafood. We wanted to eat local seafood and this hit the spot. The price was reasonable ($50 for the two of us with no drinks). My wife had the blackened grouper and thought it was great. I had the balckened scallops and shrimp pasta and it was really tasty. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great. A little less money than some of the other seafood places on River Street. A good pick if you want seafood.
Fiddler's Crab House - Southside location only. Fiddler's Crab House had nice atomosphere. Service was 4.0, Food was excellent, Lobster Chowder was great, bread and cheese were good, fried shrimp, steamed bucket of oysters was worth the 15 minute wait. Calamari was fair, just a little over cooked.Prices were excellent for the quanity and quality of the food, service was attentive. Experience at downtown branch was very poor, but this location is to be considered an great choice for the food and service...good job Fiddler's!!
Waste of my Life.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The menu was uninspired and unoriginal and extremely overprice. The food did not taste very good (although they gave you a big plate...you don't really want more than you have to take.), nor did it taste fresh. The buffalo wings had little to no spice in them. The fish fingers (made out of grouper) were dirty fishy. The fries were good though. The water was good too. The bathrooms were so disgusting. I thought I was gonna catch an STD just by walking in. I thought the host may have been mildly retarded. No friendliness at all. Our server was a total b*tch. She made is feel sooooo rushed and unwanted but still was really slow to bring us food, drink, or bills. It wasn't even very busy. It was recommended to us by the owner of the bar down the street called Live Wire which was awesome.
IT WAS GREAT. ME AND MY HUSBAND ATE HERE IT WAS VERY REASONABLE PRICED AND GREAT SEASONED FOOD. THE SERVICE WAS AWESOME AND I WILL GO BACK THERE ANYTIME.
Poor service and over priced/average food. We waited 30 minutes to be seated, the waitress brought us waters and didnt return for 10-20 minutes. We put in our drink orders and didnt see her again until we finished our drinks. Food took about 45 minutes and the bill was well over $50 for two. This is just another lousy tourist trap on river front, with no attention to quality, only quantity. For a port town it shocks me how much these places get away with charging for seafood.
Excellent crab stew.
This is a great place to start a casual night out. My boyfriend and I went here because it seemed just our style: relaxed atmosphere, full bar, great-looking menu. On a Friday night at about 7 pm, we had to wait approximately 20 minutes for a table on the upstairs balcony, which was fine because we were able to enjoy some local brews while we waited at the bar downstairs. We could have had one of several appetizers, but waited instead. The bartenders were very friendly, and when we were seated our server greeted us promptly.
The service was friendly and adequate overall. We were in no rush, and we kept in mind that dinner is meant to be enjoyed and lingered over, not poured down the gullet and out the door. That's just part of the South. Relax! Enjoy things! Look around! Have a conversation!
Our meal arrived actually faster than expected, and it was excellent. We ordered the clam chowder, the crab stew, and shared a crab cake entree. All of it was prepared in-house and delicious. This is the real thing. We will go back the next time we visit Savannah.
Went with my family for lunch at the Fiddlers. It took them 20 minutes to seat us despite the it being almost empty.
The server was rude, cold and extremely unfriendly. She almost refused to wait on us. It's almost unbelievable that this type of behavior exists in a cosmopolitan world! we walked out of that place after about 1/2 hour of drinking water.
Will never set foot on this place again. Upon complaining, the management drew a cold shoulder. Honestly, was not surprised by it.
The WORST food in Savannah. This place is HORRIBLE. The food was cold and looked like it has been on my plate for a couple of days before they served it.
