Best dessert. I love this place. I was turned on to gelato in Italy in the 90's and this place is the best I've had here. The sandwiches are really yummy. Gets crowded and the band gets loud but that's ok. The ice cream is worth it. Try the creamsicle. Or the butter pecan.

Best ice cream; best grilled sandwiches. I landed at this place my very first visit to Savannah and now I'm a regular. I can't believe the negative review of the lady who doesn't like to be told what menu to read. This place is GREAT. You can't taste better ice cream, not even in Italy, and the grilled sandwiches are well worth the 10 minute wait. Everything tastes excellent and it's at a great price. My favorite is the scarlatti, but my friends love the Man Eater. As for the ice cream, my favorite flavor is cheesecake and death by chocolate, but baklava is also really good and Gianduia is a classic. The lady who gave a one star review because she took the wrong receipt and somebody pointed it out to her needs to get a reality check. This place is awsome. Don't just take my word for it. This is a place not to miss.

TERRIBLE FOOD AND HORRIBLE SERVICE. BIG THUMBS DOWN!! We picked this place excitedly because of the gelato and because of all the cafes in the market, this one was the least crowded (now I know why). Walking in we saw the menu written on the chalk board and as we read it the guy behind the counter barked at us to read the paper menu he pointed to at the register. We obeyed and ordered promptly. The girl taking our order was impatient and irritated that she had to wait on us at all. I paid for my order with a credit card and she handed me two different duplicate copies and explained which I was to keep. My 8 yr old daughter started talking to me at this moment too so I was a bit distracted. I signed the reciept and kept the yellow copy for myself (which is usually the protocol) and tried handing the girl the white copy but she literally made a sound as if to be annoyed and snatched the yellow copy from my hand and threw the second set of receipts at me (I got it - those were mine). I apologized to her for being distracted by my daughter and she said nothing. Our panini was prepared and delivered by another female. I asked if I could trouble her for an extra paper plate since my daughter and I were sharing the panini (yes, that's what they serve you your food on - paper plates). She asked me if I asked for one when I placed my order. I said that I didn't realize I needed to. She begrudgingly brought me another. The panini was stone cold in the middle. The service was horrendous. I've never been treated so badly for giving my money to support a business! Needless to say, we did not get their gelato. We went up the street and found good ol' ice cream from a very friendly and humble retailer who actually thanked us for our business.

What happened to southern hospitality?. If you're looking for that wonderful hospitality that the south is famous for you definitely will not find it here. There were two people working when I went in to Cafe Gelatohhh on my birthday Aug 7, a young guy and a young reddish haired girl (I'd say they were both in their early 20s). They were both very unfriendly, did not say "thank you" or anything remotely kind or polite. They acted put out, like I was so rude to come in and interrupt their standing around and talking. I'm sorry kids, but just because you're young and think you're so "cool" because you work in a coffeeshop, that is no excuse for such poor customer service. If you hate working with people so much why don't you get a job where you don't have to deal with people- like behind a computer screen or in a factory. If you insist on working in a customer related field I suggest you lighten up on the attitude a little and treat your paying customers a better. Will never go back to Cafe Gelatohhh, there are plenty of other coffee/gelato shops in Savannah.

Cornering the Market on good taste and value. Dual review, as I dined at Oh Gelatohhhh! & the adjacent Cafe at City Market on separate occasions in the same day.

Befitting the area, Oh Gelatohhhh! is casual, friendly, inviting & aesthetically pleasing. Opted for the Italian soda float ($4.75), which is a huge scoop of gelato in a flavored Italian soda. My soda choice - Irish cream - was out that day. I told the gal at the counter, "Okay, this combination may be awful, but it's my two favorite flavors, so I'll try it...", and ordered a key lime pie gelato in blueberry soda. The gal told me if I didn't like it, she'd happily replace it at no charge, but that wasn't needed. The float was very good (though I'm *not* recommending the key lime pie/blueberry combo, per se...I have weird tastes). They have a decent variety of gelato flavors, & about ten flavors of Italian soda as well as paninis.

I definitely recommend Oh Gelatohhhh!, even if I have a hard time remembering how many 'h's are in the name. Good gelato, very friendly service, decent value.

Cafe at City Market's meal had something in common with my experience at Oh Gelatohhh! - I didn't get exactly what I asked for on my first try, but it was made up for. Sat on the botanically-enhanced front porch & ordered a grilled grouper BLT ($8.95) with sesame noodles (server's suggestion for the side, & a good one) & spin/art dip. The grouper sandwich, served with a creole sauce, was fairly good. The noodles are incredible. Can't speak for the dip - the server forgot to turn in that order. But, she was very apologetic & given the huge portion the sandwich & noodles comprise, the omission was a blessing. Was given a huge slice of cheesecake with raspberry topping to make up for the faux pas; nice touch by the server, who was very attentive & friendly.

Overall, I enjoyed it. For casual dining, it does fine. Good value, tasty food, & again friendly service.

Oh, my!. I went to Savannah for a vacation, and came across Gelatohhh! by chance in City Market. It is now my new favorite desert place. I have found other gelato places since, and none have even compared! Also, paninis are of the HIGHEST quality! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMM!
