Great oysters. great local pub. Saturday 3 dozen raw oysters for $14 and $5 pitchers. can't beat it!

Angry Party of One HEARD!.
Yes, the food and service are wonderful. However, the locals let tourists know how they really feel about us at this establishment. My husband and I visited Bernie's and ordred takeout at the bar 2/16/09 - it was almost 10pm. 3 people were sitting at the bar as well and one was very loud and very, very drunk. He was literally (no kidding)screaming and yelling at the people he was with! My husband kindly asked him to lower his voice. Well, this sent the man over the edge. He said throughout the small restaurant "I LIVE HERE!!! I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!!! TOURISTS ARE A PIECE OF S!*T!!! THEY SHOULD GO BACK TO WHEREVER THE F@*^% THEY CAME FROM!!!" I reminded him tourists are what paid for that drink he obviously could'nt handle. Angry party of one HEARD!
That guy totally ruined Bernie's for me. We come to Savannah because it's so nice - the town, the people, everything about is is so relaxing and warm. This moronic loser (btw he's a local server who hates his job and despised a co-worker who could not even handle a salad - believe me, everyone who was there knows the story) will not deter me from coming back to one of my favorite places to visit. I won't go back to Bernie's. If I want to be treated like garbage by angry patrons with entitlement syndrome, I might stop in.
