The Best Food In Savannah!
by lovesavannah
Our family makes reservations for every Thanksgiving. We make a resevation for 11:00 and are always seated before 11:00. The food is delicious, The Sweet Tea is excellent, and the Service is PERFECT! Our glasses are never empty and if we ask for anything we receive it immediately! The waiters are very kind!
- Pros: Walking distance from all Hotels in Historic District
- Cons: none
Seriously disappointing and hugely overrated.

Being slightly addicted to the Food Network, I was very excited to get the chance to experience the food of the legendary Paula Deen. What a disappointment. First of all, her face is plastered over every open space, which starts to look creepy after a while. When we showed up for our appointment, we were told to walk through the gift shop to the waiting area. Yes, they forced us to walk through the gift shop in order to get to our seats. We were then told to walk upstairs to another host in order to be seated, where we stood in line for the third time. My husband commented that the whole experience felt like we were at a Disneyland ride. The staff was polite, but stiff, making the experience feel even more like an animatronic amusement park ride. As for the food, it was average, at best. Everything was literally swimming in a pool of butter, and I think my husband and I make better fried chicken at home. The only thing that was worthy of a second visit was the lemonade, which was fantastic. Overall, it was a very disillusioning trip. Instead of a passion for food, I saw a corporation desperate for our money. Extremely disappointing.
- Pros: Now that I've gone, I never have to go again.
- Cons: Fake/corporate atmosphere, overpriced buffet with average food

I was a little worried about going to the Lady and Sons after reading the reviews on the web. I can honestly say I don't know what people were expecting.
We arrived at the restaurant at 8:15 am I was worried we were late, but we ended up being just in time while we waited we struck up conversations with other people waiting and our 1:15 min wait was actually very pleasant. We got the first service for lunch and were told be back 15 min early, we arrived, and the fun started. We were called to lunch with a "dinner bell" and within a few minutes we were taken to our table
I heard complaints about the service, well our server was outstanding. She was kind, courteous, and didn't mind all the touristy questions. I had heard that if you want to really enjoy the food experience it is best to order from the menu. We started out with the Green Tomato appetizer, neither one of us are fans but we loved them. My husband ordered the potpie, while I enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich, I brought 1/2 mine home. The food was GREAT! It is 6 hours now after lunch and I am still stuffed. Definitely worth the wait!
- Pros: great food
- Cons: parking not close
